Phase one: Ember Guard stance

The Cinder Warden opens in a slow, heavily armored stance. Its overhead slam has a long wind-up telegraphed by its shoulders glowing brighter — dodge left, not back, since the slam has forward reach.

Punish window: two hits after a dodged slam, before it resets its guard.

Phase two: below 50% health

At 50% health the Warden drops its shield and gains a three-hit combo with a shorter wind-up. It also starts summoning ash wisps that explode on contact.

Pop wisps from range before engaging the Warden directly — they deal Warmth damage in addition to health damage, which is easy to miss while focused on the boss.

  • Save a warmth charm specifically for phase two; the wisp explosions can silently drop you below the Stamina-cap threshold.
  • The three-hit combo always ends with a pause long enough for one heavy attack.

Phase three: below 20% health

The final phase adds a ground-fire zone that expands slowly from the Warden's position. Keep circling rather than retreating in a straight line, since the zone eventually covers the whole arena's outer ring.
