The three meters

Emberfall Horizon tracks Warmth, Hunger, and Stamina as separate meters, but they are not independent — low Hunger accelerates Warmth loss, and low Warmth caps your maximum Stamina.

Understanding that chain is the difference between a bad night and a lost camp.

Warmth

Warmth drains passively based on ambient temperature and drains faster in wind or rain. It regenerates only near a lit heat source.

Below 30% Warmth, your maximum Stamina is capped at half, regardless of how full your Stamina bar looks.

Hunger and Stamina

Hunger drains at a constant rate and, once it hits zero, doubles your Warmth drain rate until you eat again.

Stamina governs sprinting, blocking, and heavy attacks. It regenerates fastest while standing still near a fire, slowest while walking in ash-fall.

  • Eating just before Hunger hits zero is more efficient than eating at full Hunger — food has a small overflow buffer that is wasted otherwise.
  • Carry at least one warmth charm at all times; it is the only way to stop Warmth loss without stopping to build a fire.
