Memory Shards & Branching Truths Explained

How matching works
Each memory room contains shards representing individual claims. Matching two shards that directly contradict each other resolves which one is treated as true for the rest of the story — this choice is remembered permanently.
Branching truths
Because each room's resolution persists, later rooms sometimes present different contradictions depending on earlier choices. This is intentional; there is no single 'correct' playthrough, only a consistent one.
- If a later scene feels like it contradicts what you resolved earlier, it usually means an NPC is lying — that is a puzzle cue, not a bug.
